I needed the shadows of a couple of goons to move along the wall of my alley set but I did not want to spend a lot of time creating puppets for said goons so I employed a very old technique: shadow puppets. I downloaded a very simple pattern, printed them on cardboard, cut out the various pieces, split pinned them together, glued them to a stand and had them on the set, ready to shoot in less than 2 hours. Most importantly the end result was startling. The picture above really doesn’t do it justice but it gives you a good idea of the set up involved.
